Strategic Environmental Assessments

Carbonless have team members who work with the Scottish Government on the development of SEA as a strategic measurement tool. This will ensure that all SEA work carried out by Carbonless for our customers will always meet the required standards and adopt the most up-to-date practices. Our services in this area range from consultation to the production of a full SEA report.

Public sector cuts will create opportunities for private enterprise to win contracts for public services. This also means that private sector business needs to adapt to the legislation and processes demanded for certain public sector projects, with SEA one such requirement. The Scottish Government define SEA as “a method of considering and broadly evaluating the likely impact of a public plan, programme or strategy on the environment”. This in practice means that a public plan has to be assessed from an environmental context and an environmental report produced outlining the findings of this assessment.
